I must admit I have never been the outdoorsy type of girl who likes to camp in anything but an air conditioned, furnished trailer but I loved the idea of the outdoors for my classroom theme! There is so much you can do with it and it's appealing to both my little boys & girls. I started this theme my second year of teaching (2013-2014), adding a few things to it this year and plan to just enhance it each year to come.
Here is our cozy reading area, complete with a homemade a-frame tent made by my wonderful dad! I got the idea for the abstract tissue paper ball tree from Pinterest and love the way it turned out!The yellow bookshelf houses all my student's supplies that they use regularly each day. The trees are such a fun accent… I have 2 like this around the room… and so easy to put up {made with fadeless paper}!
In our classroom we use the Super Improver Wall — you can only go up and the kids love it!
Each table group has a vintage tackle box {ordered from etsy } to serve as their community toolbox! Inside we keep a couple boxes of markers, some glue sticks, erasers, highlights and other supplies they made need quick access too! BEST PURCHASE EVER ~ it adds just the perfect touch to the camping theme don't you think?!
View of our small group area with another fun accent tree out of fadeless paper - they are so quick and easy to put up! This whiteboard will be used for math vocabulary as it is introduced throughout the year!
Here are the student's mailboxes (top) where I return all graded papers to take home. Below on the shelves are ice bins from Wal-Mart for the student's book boxes!
Found these adorable hall & bathroom passes when I was shopping in Canton, TX this summer and just had to have them.

This bookshelf is kept at the front meeting area and is used to highlight and feature books from our classroom library that correlate to our units of study!
A view of the entry and front meeting area {large meeting rug ordered from Overstock.com}
I purchased a fishing net decoration from Hobby Lobby and use clothespins to hang student work up in the room!
Books, books, and more books!
Another amazing piece in my classroom made by my dad are my students name tag and pencil holders! My daddy is the best!
Panoramic view from the front of my room
Spelling word tree {Tree pocket chart ordered from Oriental Trading a couple years ago }
Classroom bulletin board out in the hallway to display student work… This might be my favorite part of it all! This didn't cost me a penny! I covered the bulletin board with brown and white paper from our school workroom {to represent the chocolate and marshmallow } then trimmed it with crumpled paper towels from the janitor cart which just so happened to be sitting in the hallway by my room at the perfect time! I don't ever want to take it down...
I love your room--beautiful and inviting but not overdone!
